Evidence-Led
We start with data. Research and evidence inform how we design and deliver every program.
These are the principles that shape every program we run.
We start with data. Research and evidence inform how we design and deliver every program.
We work as a hub; government, civil society, academia, and the private sector meet at our table to build solutions together.
We work with openness and responsibility at every stage of our programs, from planning and reporting to how resources are used.
We treat every program as a chance to learn. What works and what doesn’t feeds directly into how we design the next program.
We are an independent nonprofit, guided by the evidence we conduct and the recommendations we develop.
It needs to reach the right people, in a form they can use, carried by partners capable of acting on it. We combine four things to make that happen.
We conduct research and build tools that turn raw data into evidence decision-makers can act on.
We translate that evidence into campaigns, stories, and media, and share it through channels that reach the public and policymakers alike.
We deliver training and facilitate dialogue to strengthen the capacity of governments, communities, and partners to advance their work.
We convene government, private sector, civil society, and academia around shared data to foster dialogue and collaboration.
From how we build funding partnerships to how programs are delivered on the ground.
We build funding proposals around a clear understanding of the problem, a practical Theory of Change, clear indicators, and a realistic budget. Each proposal is reviewed internally before submission.
We draw on an independent panel of specialists in policy, economics, sustainable development, and governance to pressure-test our strategy, map the right donors, and strengthen every proposal before it’s submitted.
We work with implementing partners to deliver programs on the ground, with funding managed on a nonprofit basis and clear arrangements for costs, responsibilities, and reporting.
We lead where it matters most for donor accountability and give our implementing partners full autonomy over day-to-day delivery.
By combining research with a wider network across policy communication, journalism, community forums, and media, we get evidence in front of the people who can act on it.
We believe better decisions start with better data — but data alone isn’t enough. Real change happens when credible evidence reaches the right people, in a form they can use, backed by partners capable of acting on it.
Indonesia doesn’t lack data or research, what’s missing is the bridge to decision-makers, and the trust to act on it together. That’s the gap YBDI exists to close.
We turn research into policy recommendations, carry it into public conversation through communication and dissemination, and convene partners across sectors.
Research, recommendations, and public content — delivered through forums and partnerships — put evidence where it can be acted on and build the trust to act together.
Evidence-based decisions become the norm, not the exception — moving Indonesia toward development that’s not only sustainable, but fair and inclusive for everyone.
We don’t wait until a program ends to ask what worked. Monitoring, evaluation, and learning run continuously — from the first baseline data we collect to the lessons we carry into the next program.
Every program tracks progress against its plan and budget every month, with risks flagged and addressed early.
We step back regularly to assess what’s working, close the gap between plan and reality, and course-correct before small issues become big ones.
We capture insight in real time — including the unexpected — and turn it into practice through a simple cycle: capture, synthesize, share, apply.
Every program YBDI runs is built on a Theory of Change with clear indicators and baseline data — and we report to our donors on time, every time.
The programs, partners, and places where this way of working is being tested right now.
